Aloha, my name is Carly! Art has always been my sanctuary where the outside world quiets and my mind is completely free. I am inspired by nature, especially the ocean, from having amazing opportunities to work in the dive industry and environmental conservation in places with beautiful wildlife. I am always in the water, whether surfing, freediving, or SCUBA diving.

 

For traditional art– pen to paper– I would describe my art style as “surreal hyperrealism”– depicting things as they appear true-to-life but with a twist, like absurd proportions or colors, to tell a story. For art meant to be a collaboration of my talent with your unique vision, such as interior decoration, livening up a public space, or giving you a cherished memento, I lean into my ability to depict something hyperrealistically while preserving the magic– brushstrokes, texture, extra dramatic lighting–  that makes a customized art piece hit differently.
